Amigurumi Water Sprite/Rain Drop Crochet Pattern

It's been forever, but that's probably b/c I moved and now have no internet. Hooray for free Wifi and donated laptops! My Etsy shop (La Blue Gyrl Art, etc.) is on Facebook (What isn't?) facebook.com/labluegyrl Pill-chan also has her own FB page @ facebook.com/pillchan and of course you can follow me on Twitter.com @dopefaerie.

So blah blah blah, life is life and arts and crafts are good... so here's a Free Crochet Pattern! Enjoy!

Water Sprite

Amigurumi Water Sprite / Rain Drop Crochet Pattern

Used: "F" Hook (3.50mm)
Sport/Light/Baby Weight Yarn in Baby Blue
Polyfill/Stuffing
Polybeans
6mm Solid Black Eyes (2)

Form a "magic ring"

1 - sc x6, tighten ring gently (06)
2 - 2 sc in each sc (12)
3 - (sc, inc) around, mark the last stitch with a bit
of yarn, sl sts are not used. (18)
4 - (2 sc, inc) around (24)
5 - (3 sc, inc) around (30)
6-8 - sc around (30)
9 - (3 sc, dcr) around (24)
10 - sc around (24)
11 - (2 sc, dcr) around (18)
12 - sc around (18)
13 - (1 sc, dcr) around (12)

At this point, add the eyes wherever you decide the face is, between rows 7 & 8 and about 4 stitches apart (or wherever you may please!). Take a bit of stuffing and flatten it with your fingers; place this stuffing at the bottom of your Sprite. Pour in a small layer of the polybeans, for weight. Add more stuffing to desired squishiness or not squishiness.

14 - sc around (12)
15 - (1 sc, dcr) around (08)
16 - sc around, add more stuffing (08)
17 - dcr around (04)

Finish off with a sl st (if possible), close off. Tuck in loose ends/marker yarns, using your hook. If desired, use the butt of the hook to also add more stuffing. Shape if needed with your fingers, curving the tip of the Sprite (as shown) if desired. Enjoy!

Update: Apparently No One Gives a Shit About Bigfoot.

And now, an update. Brought to you by Realizing You Haven't Updated in a While and Boredom.

Right now (and until November 13th) one of my pieces is being featured at Bear and Bird Boutique + Gallery. As I'm in the process of making a series of lolitas, I dragged my piece for their halloween show (Candy Apples and Razor Blades) into the fun by making Hallowlita:

I also made some baby gifts for a friend's neice (see flickr of course :D), updated my stationery collection with way too many photos and snickered while taking more awful things from P3 out of context.

For now I leave you with the glory of the best pen on Earth: Sakura Gelly Roll Stardust:

Stitch Wars

Alive! I'm still crafting and writing and painting and drawing, trying to keep as busy as I possibly can!
Tonight was opening night for Stitch Wars, an exhibit composed of Star Wars inspired crafts at the Bear and Bird Boutique + Gallery in Lauderhill, FL @ Tate's Comics (Visit www.bearandbird.com for details!). The exhibits were fabulous and well worth the visit if you live in South Florida, if not pictures can be seen online @ Bear & Bird's Flickr photostream. Some of my favorite artists were featured such as Yummy Pancake and Moonbun creator Marcy Bridges along with many, many more talented and cleaver artists!! It's unreal to think I was a part of that line-up. Also, almost as if the folks at Tate's read my mind, when I got there McChris's Fett's Vett was playing and I was loving every moment of it as a Storm Trooper and Jango Fett were checking out the display case that housed some adorable amis, the baby Jabba & my own pieces.

Here are my submissions:

Seclusion of Church and State (set)
Seclusion of Church and State (Padme & Anakin set)

They'll be on display from July 18th through August 29th alongside awesome things :P

I'll be back once I'm done with my fan art.

2 Posts In One!

Okay today I was posting a poem and realized there was a post I should have put here:

My last update to prove I was alive:

Fair warning : I'm still alive. ;P Hope your holidays were great and Happy New Year to you all.
A lot of bullshit family wise, plus holidays and being busy crafting and blah blah blah blah blah. What's that they say? Don't make excuses cuz your friends don't need them and your enemies won't believe you anyway?

Have some pics....

This is Freya, she was donated to help me keep my sanity so I can play Puzzle Pirates (I'm on the Midnight Ocean, come play with me :P):

Yarrrr!

And now the poem I just wrote, enjoy. Steal from me and burn in hell this is all I have in life. ^.^

Look at this beautiful cage he said, it is the largest in the land
It is beautiful the little bird replied
You have everything you need in life he said
The seed and fruit overflow from my bowl the little bird replied
And no sweeter water exists than that which flows from your marble fountain
Water so sparkling and clear I've never seen the little bird replied

But the little bird continued
With whom shall I share this life?
Who will be my friends?
I am your friend the man replied
Who will share my interests and joy in this fabulous seed and water?
I appreciate their attributes which is why I have chosen them for you the man replied

But the man continued
Would you rather spend your life not sure if you will live to see the next day?
How will I learn to appreciate the present the little bird replied
Would you see your beauty scarred by the war of living?
They are my badges the little bird replied
Your feathers gone along with the sparkle of your eyes?
Proud sacrifices the little bird replied
Would you enjoy struggling for every meal?
The hunt, the chase and exquisite taste of a victory the little bird replied

And the little bird continued
You ask me to give up the fresh air under my wings, wings I shall never stretch again
Wings that will never see dirt or rain or parasites the man replied
This is a beautiful cage and your gifts are generous and plentiful but why should you offer me these things?

The man shut his eyes and withheld his words
Why should you appreciate my company the little bird asked
From the man's eye fell a single tear and he replied
I am lonely
I have no one with whom I can share my interests
I have no beautiful home or feast
I have nothing beautiful to call my own

And the little bird asked
So what is it you ask of me?
This he pondered
Share with me this lonely and fulfilled life.

Remember that episode of Tim and Eric Awesome Show Great Job! where Eric took Wait Mate and woke up with his memory erased and all he could think at Tim's birthday party was, "Help me. Somebody... help me?"
Yeah.
